The Nu Niles
The Nu Niles formed in 1996 and since then they have never stopped making music. They began their career as a rockabilly band in its purest concept, when that style seemed to go against any musical movement and was possibly the most underground style of the moment. Today the band’s style contains ingredients of pure rock and roll , rockabilly , surf , punk , ska , tex-mex or spaghetti western, achieving a style of its own that is characteristic.
The group is made up of Mario Cobo on guitar and vocals, Ivan Kovacevic on double bass and Blas Picón on drums.
More than 10 European tours, two on the West Coast of the United States , and having played at the most prestigious rockabilly / rock and roll festivals in the world such as Viva Las Vegas (United States 2002), Greenbay (USA 2003 and 2005), Hemsby (United Kingdom 1998 and 2001), Rockin’ Rollin’ Walldorf (Germany 2000), Summer Jamboree (Italy 2004), Psychomeeting (2005) or the Hollywood Showdown (California 2005/2007) among others.
The Nu Niles have a solid live reputation and their latest album was produced by the legendary Mike Mariconda (The Devil Dogs, The Stepbrothers, Raunch Hands…)

The Nu Niles have collaborated as session musicians on albums by international musicians of the calibre of Mitch Woods, Little Rachel, Rocky Burnette, Pigmy, Down Home, The Lazy Jumpers, Bop Pills, Loquillo …. They have also shared the stage with people such as Stray Cats , Kim Lenz, etc.
Other facts
Their 2005 album was considered one of the best national works of the year by the prestigious magazine Mondosonoro and their 2007 album was considered the second album of the year by the rock portal SonicWaveMagazine.
In 2015 , together with the Barcelona rocker Loquillo , they recorded Código Rocker. A rock’n roll album with iconic songs by the Catalan singer and by The Nu Niles.
The album was a success, reaching number 1 in sales for several weeks.
